Lady Gaga’s Sleek Updo at the 2014 Oscars

You have to admit, Lady Gaga looks extra pretty when she is at her simplest. Such was the case when she arrived at the 2014 Oscars with her hair slicked back into a low updo paired with a bouffant top.

How-to:

  1. Prep your hair with a heat-resistant, smoothening balm while it’s still damp
  2. Blow dry hair flat using the right kind of tool (large paddle boar bristle brush) from the roots until the tip while constantly moving so as not to make your strands crispy
  3. Rub a small amount of anti-frizz serum in between your palms before you glide it over your locks to smoothen it further
  4. Create a 4-inch section in the middle until the crown and tease. Smoothen the top then push it forward to create a pouf. Mist with hairspray
  5. Separate a thin section near the nape before you pull back the rest of your hair neatly into a low ponytail
  6. Cover the elastic with the thin section and pin the end under
  7. Brush the end of your ‘tail then slightly roll it inward (towards your nape) and secure with pins
